Woman recognises perverted man who once molested her on a train

A female subway commuter has tackled a perverted man who once molested her on a train after spotting him on a busy platform in China.

The eagle-eyed woman, known as A Mei, caught the man by the collar from a crowd of passers-by before pinning him to the ground, as CCTV footage shows.

The culprit attempted to escape A Mei's grasp, but was brought under control by several Good Samaritans who rushed towards A Mei to help.

A Mei captured the man in Tiyu Xilu Station on Metro Line No. 3 in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province in southern China, reported Guangzhou Radio and Television Station.

The incident took place around 2pm on July 26, but footage of the scene was released by the station yesterday.

According to the report, A Mei had been sexually harassed by the man in subway and wanted to catch him.

She had deliberately waited for the man in the station, believing this was his usual 'hunting ground'. And when she spotted him, she immediately confronted him.

The man was subdued by A Mei and onlookers and taken to police.

The programme also released a clip which shows another male commuter trying to take upskirt pictures of a woman in the city's Hanxi Changlong Station.

The man was reportedly wearing a pair of special shoes that had been fitted with cameras to film female passengers.

The man was caught in action and attempted to flee. He was captured by a male bystander and taken to police.

Guangzhou has one of the busiest and largest subway networks in China. The city of 15 million currently has 14 metro lines and 224 metro stations.

The system transports nine million passengers a day on average.
