Hunan Reports 2 New Confirmed COVID-19 Cases











During the 24 hours of February 19, 2 new confirmed cases of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus or COVID-19 were reported in Hunan. One new victim was in critical condition, no more patient died of the disease, and 36 more patients were discharged from hospitals.

There is one newly-confirmed case in Changsha and Yueyang each. And there is one more patient in critical condition in Changsha.

Among the newly-recovered cases, 12 are in Changsha, 3 in Hengyang, 3 in Zhuzhou, 1 in Shaoyang, 6 in Changde, 4 in Yiyang, 2 in Chenzhou, 1 in Huaihua, and 4 in Loudi.

As of 24:00 on February 19, a total of 1,010 cumulativeconfirmed cases had been reported in Hunan, including 140 cumulative in critical condition. Four people had died, and 578 patients had been discharged from hospitals. There are now 44 in critical condition and 428 treated in hospitals.

Among the confirmed cases, 242 are in Changsha, 48 in Hengyang, 78 in Zhuzhou, 35 in Xiangtan, 102 in Shaoyang, 156 in Yueyang, 79 in Changde, 5 in Zhangjiajie, 59 in Yiyang, 39 in Chenzhou, 43 in Yongzhou, 40 in Huaihua, 76 in Loudi, and 8 in Xiangxi.

Among the patients who remain in critical condition, 12 are in Changsha, 2 in Hengyang, 6 in Zhuzhou, 5 in Xiangtan, 5 in Shaoyang, 2 in Yueyang, 3 in Changde, 3 in Yiyang, 1 in Chenzhou, 1 in Yongzhou, and 4 in Loudi.

Among the dead, there are two in Changsha, and one in Shaoyang and Yueyang each.

Among the patients who were discharged from hospitals, 110 are in Changsha, 32 in Hengyang, 40 in Zhuzhou, 17 in Xiangtan, 71 in Shaoyang, 64 in Yueyang, 49 in Changde, 5 in Zhangjiajie, 35 in Yiyang, 29 in Chenzhou, 30 in Yongzhou, 38 in Huaihua, 51 in Loudi, and 7 in Xiangxi.

A total of 26,483 close contacts have been traced, among whom 2,249 are under medical observation while 24,234 others have been discharged.


China reports 394 new confirmed cases of COVID-19






Chinese health authority Thursday said it received reports of 394 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection and 114 deaths on Wednesday from 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.

Among the deaths, 108 were in Hubei Province and one in Hebei, Shanghai, Fujian, Shandong, Yunnan and Shaanxi, respectively, according to the National Health Commission.

In Hubei, 349 confirmed cases were reported Wednesday, including 615 in the provincial capital Wuhan, epicenter of the outbreak, with 279 clinically diagnosed cases in the province's 10 other cities reduced from the overall calculation as the patients tested negative, the commission said.

China last week revised the diagnosis criteria for confirmed novel coronavirus cases, counting any suspected cases with pneumonia-related CT scan results as clinically diagnosed cases.

Nationwide, another 1,277 new suspected cases were reported Wednesday, said the commission.

Also on Wednesday, 1,779 people were discharged from hospital after recovery, while the number of severe cases decreased by 113 to 11,864.
