No new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Hunan




During the 24 hours of March 20, no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Hunan.

As of 24:00 on March 20, a total of 1,018 cumulativeconfirmed cases had been reported in Hunan, 4 people had died, and 1,014 patients had been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 27,161 close contacts have been traced, among whom 142 are under medical observation while 27,019 others have been discharged.


Chinese mainland reports 41 newly imported COVID-19 cases






The Chinese mainland reported 41 newly imported cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Friday, bringing the total number of imported cases to 269, according to the National Health Commission.

The commission said it received reports of 41 newly confirmed cases on the mainland Friday, all of which were imported.

Of the 41 newly imported cases, 14 were reported in Beijing, nine in Shanghai, seven in Guandong, four in Fujian, two in Zhejiang, Shandong and Shaanxi respectively, and one in Sichuan, according to the commission.

The global death toll from COVID-19 increased by 1,061 to 9,840 in the past 24 hours as of 00:00 CET on Friday, according to the daily situation report released by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The report showed a total of 234,073 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported as of Friday, an increase of 24,247 infections compared to the previous day.

Italy has suffered the most deaths, 4,032, out of 47,021 cases, with 627 fatalities over the past 24 hours.

Spains confirmed cases of COVID-19 totaled 20,410 with 1,043 deaths.

Germany confirmed a total of 64 deaths from coronavirus on Friday and the number of cases had risen to 19,712.

The total confirmed cases reached 19,644 in Iran with 1,433 fatalities were on Friday.

The US has 244 deaths and 19,101 declared cases.

France reported a total of 450 deaths from coronavirus on Friday and the number of cases had risen to 12,612.

South Korea reported 147 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total national infections to 8,799, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said Saturday local time.

There have been 4,840 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 51 deaths in Switzerland as of Friday.

The number of people in the UK who have died after contracting the coronavirus rose to 177 and the number of people tested positive reached 3,983 on Friday.

The Netherlands has itself recorded 106 deaths and 2,994 cases in total as of Thursday, according to the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment.


Recently, a language school in Frankfurt area of the Chinese consulate general found new confirmed cases of COVID-19. A total of 18 students tested positive, five of them are Chinese.
