A doctor who went to help fight the coronavirus outbreak in Hubei province has tragically passed away before she was reunited with her family.
Zhang Jingjing spent two months in the city of Huanggang before returning to Shandong province on March 21. She was then put into 14-day isolation upon her arrival back.
However, on April 5, just one day before she was to be allowed to go home, Zhang suffered a fatal heart attack. Efforts to save her proved unsuccessful and she was declared dead on Monday evening.
She leaves behind a husband and a 5-year-old daughter. Her husband is working in Africa and hasnt been able to fly back home.

Zhang tested negative three times for Covid-19. Its not clear what caused her cardiac arrest. She was only in her mid-thirties.
Previously, a number of doctors died in China from exhaustion after working for weeks straight combatting the virus outbreak.
One 51-year-old woman who died after working 18 days straight in February was posthumously labeled a role model for other medics by provincial officials.
Zhangs death came one day after China honored those killed in the coronavirus outbreak with three minutes of silence.
