Jilin city goes into lockdown as new coronavirus cluster spreads

The city of Jilin has become the latest Chinese city to be put into lockdown as concerns continue to rise about a second coronavirus wave hitting Chinas northeast.
Jilin is located in the province of the same name, near to the city of Shulan which went into lockdown earlier this week after a dozen Covid-19 cases were discovered, all traced back to a single laundry worker.
The cases in Jilin are also reportedly linked to the laundry worker. Seven new cases have been reported in the past two days.
In response, Jilin has been closed off to outsiders while locals are only being allowed to leave if they have recently tested negative for Covid-19 and have spent time self-isolating.
The citys public transport system has been shut down along with all entertainment venues, and schools.
