During the 24 hours of May 6, Hunan reports no new confirmed COVID-19 cases.

As of 24:00 on May 6, a total of 1,019 cumulativeconfirmed cases had been  reported in Hunan, 4 people had died, and 1,015 patients had been discharged from hospitals

During the 24 hours of May 6, no new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases were reported in Hunan. There were no cases out of quarantine. There were no people under medical observation.

A total of 27,414 close contacts have been traced, and among them one is under medical observation.

Chinese health authority said Thursday that no new domestically transmitted cases of COVID-19 were reported on the Chinese mainland on Wednesday.


Two imported cases, one in Shanghai and the other in Guangdong province, were reported Wednesday.


Also on Wednesday, two new suspected cases, both imported ones in Shanghai, were reported.


No deaths related to the disease were reported.

Also on Wednesday, six new asymptomatic cases, all domestic ones, were reported on the mainland. No cases were re-categorized as confirmed cases, and 29 such cases, including seven from overseas, were discharged from medical observation, according to the commission.

By Wednesday, 1,040 confirmed cases including four deaths had been reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), 45 confirmed cases in the Macao SAR, and 439 in Taiwan including six deaths.


A total of 932 patients in Hong Kong, 40 in Macao, and 339 in Taiwan had been discharged from hospitals after recovery.

As of 10:00 on May 6th in central European summer time (16:00 on May 6th, Beijing time), there were 71,463 new COVID-19 cases  in the world, and 4,102 cases of deaths. Among them, the most severe epidemic in Europe has been diagnosed with 1,593,828 cases, an increase of 27,179 cases; a total of 147,780 deaths, an increase of 2178 cases.

On May 6, local time, WHO held a regular press conference on COVID-19. WHO Director-General said that since early April, there have been an average of 80,000 new cases of COVID-19 every day.
