Wuhan reports first new coronavirus cases in over a month

While there had been nothing but good news out of Wuhan for quite some time, that streak has been broken this week.
Five new Covid-19 cases were reported in Wuhan on Monday after one was diagnosed on Sunday. These are the citys first new cases since April 3.
All of the cases come from the same residential community in the suburban district of Dongxihu (). An 89-year-old man was the first confirmed case. One of those confirmed on Monday is his wife. Two others are over 70 years old.
The cases are all reported to be asymptomatic.
Local officials and medical experts have been quick to calm fears about a potential second coronavirus wave hitting the viruss original epicenter, noting that the community is outside of the city center and has been put under lockdown while close contacts have been traced and put under observation.
Dongxihu joins the Jilin city of Shulan as Chinas new focus of attention. Shulan has reported more than a dozen infections in the past few days in the countrys largest local Covid-19 outbreak in months.
The city has been put under lockdown with only one family member a day allowed out to buy necessities and all non-essential travel banned.
